How to cook the best sausages on the BBQ

Preparation time: 5 mins
Cooking time: 10 mins
Serves: 5 (multiply out for your numbers)


  • 5 thick beef sausages (multiple for one per person)
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • Sea salt
  • Ground pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar
  • 5 bread rolls (sliced bread also works great)
  • 3 sliced onions
  • Tomato and BBQ sauce


  1. Heat your barbecue to medium-low (slower is always better)
  2. Add sausages to the grill
  3. Add onion to the hotplate, mix with olive oil
  4. Add salt & pepper to onions with the balsamic vinegar
  5. Turn sausages very regularly to ensure even cooking
  6. Cook for 10-15 mins and watch colour (no burn marks!)
  7. Add layer of sauce on bread BEFORE adding the sausage
  8. Add the sausage to the bread and add onions to taste
